What better way to freeze that precious moment in time than with a one-of-a-kind canvas painting that you and your friends and family get to watch come to life right before your eyes?
Here's how it works
There are many different ways we can handle your wedding painting. It really all depends on your vision and individual needs. No matter what approach we take, the end result is sure to be magical!

Step 1: Let’s discuss your vision!
I want your painting to turn out exactly how you envision. We will discuss canvas size, location, colors and poses. If possible, I will visit your venue ahead of time to photograph your desired location and pre-paint the backdrop before your big day so your guests can enjoy watching me paint the most fun and important part of the painting - you!
For locations that require more travel, you can send me photos if you wish. This is not required, so don’t sweat it! I will paint as much as I can with the time that I have before your ceremony or reception starts. It really all depends on the moment you want captured for your painting.
I am a realistic wedding painter. This means you will be the focus - not your guests! I put the majority of my time and energy into painting the couple, and therefore do not include any guests in your painting.
Please have the location picked out before your wedding day. If I have not already gotten a photograph of the space you’d like to pose in, I will arrive as early as possible to paint the background of your painting before your guests arrive.
Step 2: Record/Photograph
Since I am painting one singular moment in time, it’s crucial that I snap a photo of that moment to reference. There are two ways we can handle this, depending on the moment you would like painted.
1. POSED. If possible, I will ask the couple to pose for me in the desired location at their venue before the guests arrive.
2. CANDID. Let me know the moment you want captured! I will take a video that I can then choose the best still frame image from. That way there is no risk of missing anything you may want painted.
You can then choose the photo you’d like me to replicate, or leave it to me to surprise you (I love a good surprise!) I will have a set up for my ipad to reference the photo from and get to painting.
Step 3 : Paint
The best part! I’ll paint the two of you into the background that I have completed prior to your guests arriving. It’s in your best interest to give me extra time to spend on the background so I can spend more time painting the two of you in front of your guests. Trust me, they will love watching me paint the two of you as opposed to the backdrop! I will paint as much as I can throughout the night and chat with your guests in the process.
Step 4 : Finish in my studio
It is not likely that I will finish your painting the night of. The more time I have, the more detailed I can get! It really is best to let me take it home with me and finish getting those tiny brush details added to give your painting that extra “wow” factor that it truly deserves.
If you are satisfied with what I have painted during the night of your wedding, you are welcome to take the painting home as is. Otherwise, I will spend the next few weeks finishing those final details. I will make arrangements to drop off, meet up, or ship the final painting to you.

Why Live Painting Rules
Have you ever seen a live painter at a wedding or swanky charity event? It's a relatively new concept, so chances are you haven't (and you really, really should). Here's why!
I provide eye catching, one-of-a-kind entertainment for your guests. Imagine you're a guest at an event I'm painting. You analyze the early stages of the painting. You start to recognize the space as the one you're standing in. Suddenly you're invested. An hour goes by and you pass by my table as you head for the bar to grab a drink. You see the painting developing right before your eyes. You find yourself making a point to check my progress every hour, and perhaps you're curious enough to ask me what I'm doing. I stop to chat with you about my work, making a personal connection as I eagerly explain my process and what the final result will be.
Now you're even more invested. I start to add figures and the defining details that encapsulate the event. You return to your table and ask your friends "oh my gosh, have you seen the painter over there?" BOOM discussions are happening. Before you know it, it's time to wrap up the evening. You stop by my table one last time and find yourself in awe of the final result. You recognize the people, the place, and the moment. "What a cool way to commemorate the day" you think to yourself.
And the best part - that painting is eternal. More precious than a photograph. People will remember it.
"Kelly did a live painting for our wedding and we absolutely love it! Not only did she create a beautiful piece, she also interacted with our guests. We received so many compliments during our wedding, and for months to follow. Kelly does a wonderful job capturing what clients are looking for, while also adding her special touches! Her work speaks for itself and we cannot wait to fill our home with more art from her in the future."
